Jane Burn is an artist living and working on Waiheke Island in the Hauraki Gulf, New Zealand. After being introduced to ceramics while resident in a one year Mombusho scholarship at Miyadai University, Kyushu, Japan, Jane went on to complete a Diploma in Ceramics in 2018, she has continued her passion working in clay primarily, maintaining a studio practice that also encompasses painting and drawing. Jane exhibits and works on individual projects for private collections and exhibitions, creating beautiful timeless works.

“I work from my small studio here on Waiheke Island, where there is a kiln shed in the garden and a large table to draw, paint and create my works in clay overlooking the sea. Clay is my passion, the slow process of handbuilding, and the experimentation and investigation into form and texture is what I love most.”
